A magic word more meaningful and powerful......

From a very young age, in fact, almost from the moment we can speak, we start learning about manners and how to use them.  I can't count the number of times both as a young child, and now even as an adult that I heard my mom say, "what's the magic word?" After a few times of hearing that question, it almost becomes the instinct for any child who even has the smallest ability to talk and understand language to say, "please!" After the object of desire is handed to them, they will often hear a phrase like "what do you say now?", or something along those lines.  Soon it becomes just as obvious that the adult is waiting for "thank you".

If I asked you to think really hard about it, would you be able to come up with another word that is more powerful, and more meaningful than the words please and thank you?  If you can't, I completely understand because there aren't too many words that are more powerful and more meaningful than those three.  As a follow-up question, would you be able to keep an open mind long enough for me to tell you that I have come up with a more powerful word?  Yes, it is a single word, not two, as in the case of thank you, but a single word.  Now, I really didn't start thinking about how much I enjoyed hearing myself say this word until earlier this afternoon when I was sitting around thinking about the person this word pertains to, and how much this person means to me.  It was at that point that I started thinking about how excited just even saying this word to somebody else, and knowing that I can gets me!  The crazy part is that some of you probably use this word on a daily basis without even thinking about it, and/or without even thinking about how it makes you feel when you say it.

So which word out of the millions of words in the English-language, including slang, could I possibly be talking about?

Drumroll please.............

"BOYFRIENDLaughing

I absolutely love, love, love, love, love hearing this word come out of my mouth!  To be able to tell a perfect stranger in a movie theater that "my boyfriend and I try to come at least once a week, absolutely thrills me beyond words!  Although I can't exactly pinpoint why that is, at this point, I don't think it really matters.  The fact is that being able to put it in the above context makes me absolutely giddy!  There's something I need all of you, but especially him when he reads this, to understand though: it's not just about being able to have the word there.  I wouldn't get as giddy as I do if it were with just anyone.  You see, sweetheart, the reason I get as giddy as I do when I tell people that we are boyfriend and girlfriend is because it's all I've ever wanted, almost since the day we met!  Now that I know that we're on the same page, and that I have the ability to make you as happy as you have made me for almost 4 1/2 years, my heart is overflowing with joy, and I couldn't ask for anything more than to be able to PROUDLY call you my boyfriend to anyone who is willing to listen, and sometimes even if they're not!

As a result of the fact that things are exactly where I have wanted them for a very very long time, I'm becoming more and more confident with each passing day.  The two of us have always had an unspoken rule that we would protect each other no matter what happened, and while that still stands, there's just something different about me able to claim "us" as us, and I love it!  In fact, if you remember correctly sweetheart, a week or so ago, you made that comment that I was becoming sassy, and you kind of liked it.  When you said it, I remember thinking, although I didn't say it at that time, "it's not me being sassy, it's me growing more confident and more comfortable with each passing moment that we are us!"

So, that's it, my new word of the day, week, month, or maybe even year is BOYFRIEND, and I couldn't be happier!  Laughing
