Star's Stellar Journal

My surgery and adjusting to my new life.

Hello everyone, Sorry I haven't been blogging yet again.  lol I've been busy.  By request of Handibot today I'm now starting to blog about my surgery.

For those of you who don't know.  I had my Bariatric lap band  surgery I've been hoping and praying for since I was 18 on July the 3rd..  It will be 2 wks tomorrow and I'm doing well.  I'm still sore but it gets better every day.  The first week I was on a clear liquid diet or any liquids you can see through like juices and ice and jello.  It was hard to live on just clear liquids there is no substinance to them lol.

Last Wensday I graduated to thicker liquids like cream of wheat, milk, grits, oatmeal, non chunky soups and food purred to baby style eating.  I've been doing much better now that I am able to eat food with more substinance.  I've began walking on saturday I walked for 30 mins, rested sunday do to the humidity, then started my walking again for 30 mins a day.  I lost about 8 pounds the first week or so.  Not sure  about now though I weight myself every day on my bathroom scales but the needle hasn't changed much yet since i havn e't been able to move around to much.  But now that I can It should drop hopefully alot.  I hope to loose at least 100 pounds.  Then I will be on my target weight level for my age and height according to my doctors.  I'm going to take pictures as it starts to show i"m loosing weight so you guys can keep tabs on me.

I had an appointment last thursday and they took my stitches out.  There were 5 of them because the surgery was laproscopic and not open abdomen.  So it was like a gall bladder surgery.  I'm doing well cept for the sorenes of where they put the port.  The other stitches don't hurt at all.  Well that's all for today, I'm tired from walking and  I have a headache after working on a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle with my grandmother for a few hours while I cooled off from my walk.  So I'll add more latter  as adjust and loose weight.
