Growing up at my Grandparents'

I have a lot of fond memories of being at my grandparents house when I was young, they watched me during the day while my parents were at work. Some of my earliest memories were of Easter egg hunts my papal would walk behind me as I toddled along with my little basket and point out eggs to me and since he was the one that hid the eggs in the first place it was kind of cheating. My brother and cousin never fussed about it…

My Fantasy Love

In my Fantasy Love , my lover will always want to be with me. It won't matter that I'm slow and naturally blonde. he'll love me for me.

He'll be understanding and patient. He'll be tender and compassionate. He'll hold me in his arms when I cry.

He'll sit with me and look at the stars in the sky He'll be protective of me. And he'll always be there for me. He'll brush my face with his lips, rest his hands on my…

Why Don't I Fit In, or Belong?

Why Don't I Fit In, or Belong?

I don't feel as though I fit in or belong anywhere. Not at school, not at home. not camp or church, or even in my own family.

I don't fit in with people my own age. I don't fit in with people younger or older then me. I don't even fit in with people of the same body type.

I try to fit in, but still be myself. It never works, I never feel like I belong. Not even…

Is It Wrong?

Is it wrong?

Is it wrong to have dreams and wishes, to want to hang onto childhood? To not want to grow up to the age where dreams and wishes don't exist? to the Age of not believing?

Is it wrong to not know about the latest movies and music, but to stick to the ones from your childhood that first inspired your dreams and wishes? To fly like Peter Pan, to swim and sing like Ariel, to find and enchanted castle like Bell, or to…

Where's The Love?

Where's The Love?

Why do people do things, they never really mean?

They hug you, smile at you, shake your hand; but there's no warmth. They are like robots, where feelings and emotions don't exist.

They ask you how you are, but before you can answer they walk away, or if they do stay to hear their responses are empty they are words without feeling or meaning. Their hugs and smiles are stiff and brief.

If you try to give them love so they can share…

The Reality of Cystic Fibrosis by Brian Adkins

We can't live forever so we die slow, still we leave behind a legacy for all to know. Capturing the pain in which the world bestowed upon us, Scared to love so we're trapped within ourselves. From birth they prepared our ditches saying we couldn't live, And the thing we have is pain to give.

Living with CF cursed by and illness, Suffering for the rest of our days We wonder what's left.

Left with sweat tests and portable IV pumps, Isolation masks, protecting yourself is…

Tears ( I wrote this many years ago I don't remmber when)

Tears can be cause by so many things. They can also mean many things, but they can mean more to someone, who may live no more. They can mean pain is present, they can wash away pain. They can mean sadness, they can mean happiness. They can be caused by distress. They can be caused by Anguish.

Tears can mean that a person is caring or understanding. They can mean that a person is tender hearted, or that someone loved had departed, but for a dying…

Spring '08

Spring At Last!

I love fall and winter for their own beauty, but eventually I get tired of the cold too and look forward to the season of flowers, butterflies, and flip-flops, Capri's, and of course tank tops lol. Its taken a little longer this year it seems for everything to start blooming. We actually had snow flurries on Monday and it wasn't from the shedding of the white petals on Bradford Pear Trees lol. It was in the forties yet there were leaves starting to…

Winter '07

Winter........... Winter has its own beauty natural and man made.

On the natural side there's the snow ( if you get any, we don't sept for occasional dandruff that melts around 10am lol ) Its so beautiful when it lands on bushes with red berries and green leaves. Very Christmasy look to it. I love watching the snow and to sit in side drinking hot chocolate or to throw snow balls at people in a friendly game never to hurt or humiliate. The wind is cold…

The leaves changing to gorgeous shades of yellow, orange, red, and browns. And no tree is the same one tree is more orange and the next tree is a mixture of yellows and reds. Or they are a mixture of all the colors at once they are so beautiful and the sky is full of fat,…

So Listen To My Heart ( I wrote this in 9th Grade)

Oh, please listen to my heart, I pray that we'll never part. That we'll always be together, best friends forever.

You can't imagine how much I need you, in my life, without you I'm not true. Not truly me, you set my soul free, from all that troubles me.

I wish I could find a way, to tell you what I want to say. I've never felt this way, to need you in my life in every day.

I would use the words I know to…

The Sixty-Five Roses Story (Mary G. Weiss)

"65 Roses' is what little children suffering from cystic fibrosis call their disease.  (As the following true story illustrates.  The words are much easier for children to pronounce.)

Mary G.  Weiss became a volunteer for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 1965 after learning that her three little boys had cystic fibrosis.  Her duty was to call every civic club, social and service organization, seeking financial support for cystic fibrosis research.

Cystic Fibrosis ( Paper I wrote in 11th grade)

I chose Cystic Fibrosis as my topic because I know what it's like to live with it day after day. I know what it's like to wonder about the future, or to wonder if I even have one. Not many people know about CF (Cystic Fibrosis) or what comes with the territory of the disease. So I'm going to take you into my world. Please keep in mind that this is a world I live in everyday and there's no escaping it.

Cystic Fibrosis is a…
