Hey Everyone,
Some of you know that I was to meet a woman tonight (the same woman who's little girl I baby sat last Thursda) because she wanted to talk to me about something. I knew nothing about what she wanted to talk about except that I wasn't in trouble or anything like that. So I agreed as I was curious about what she wanted, I suspected maybe to hire me as a permanent baby sitter or something. But to my total surprise it wasn't anything like that. She had been feeling led to take over one the older GA's (Girls in Action) group and she was praying about it and said that if the job wasn't filled by Sunday she was gona ask for the job.
Now this had nothing to do with me as far as I could see and didn't know why she couldn't tell me she was planing to apply over the phone ya know. But then she turned to me and asked me if I would be interested in being her student teacher or student helper you might say. I was very surprised that she asked me this ya know, I was thrilled because I love working with the kids, and I have wanted to be more involved, but everytime I offered my services to the different teachers they all politely said they would think about or they'd be really excited bout me doing a ventriloquism rutine sometime in the near future. But each and every one of them let me down by either forgeting even though I reminded them occasionaly or they just forgot on purpose because they didn't want my help or something like that.
Anyway so I was excited when she asked me and I agreed right away, we disscussed possible plans and activities and lessons and things. She was amazed at some of the things I came up with. If she does get the job it won't start untill September and will go to the next September etc. She told me how she wanted to be a mentor to the girls and be there to talk to them help then with homework and other problems they maybe be having and to talk about staying pure till they are married besides just the lessons designed for teaching about missionaries in other countries like Africa etc.
We'd have activites for them to be involved in to help keep them away from drugs, drinking, and smoking. Like trips to the Aquarium and concerts and things like that. We're both really excited about it and are praying hard about it. I really hope we get the chance to make a difference in these girls lives, to show them just how beautiful they are and how special they are and how much God loves them. And that they have someone to turn to when they need help or just someone to talk to. So please keep this situation in your prayers and thoughts and keep your fingers crossed in our favor.
