Hey Everyone,
I went up to the camp at 15 till 9. So I'd get there 15 mins before I was suppose to do my skit at 9. So I'd have time to practice and get prepared. My rutine went really well. The kids really loved it, they laughed and interacted with "Nick". It was really cool.
Then afterward I got together with Sharon and some out of town guests she had and we hiked up to the top of the hill where the campout platforms are. We made a delicious batch of hoe boe stew. Since it was just the 5 of us we got to use extra portioins of everything. The stews tasted fantastic we savored every bite. To make hoe boe stew you chop up onions,carrots and pottatoes..all raw and lay them in some tin foil. Add powdered onion broth, salt, and pepper. Then finnally shred some raw hamburger meat and throw it all in to a sheet of tin foil mix it up good. Seal the tin foil by rolling it and folding it etc. Then cook it in the coals for maybe 15 or 20 mins or until it's cooked the way you like it.
After that we roasted marshemellows that the guests brought with them on sticks, while our desserts " bananna boats" were cooking. Banana boats is where you take a peeled banana slit it down into the bannna with a knife, but not all the way through. Then stuff them full of chocolate squares and baby marshemellows. Then wrap them in tin foil and cook them on the coals for about 5 mins till it's all melted and warm. They are so delicious!
After that we hiked back down the hill. Changed into baithing suits and headed for the pool. We swam untill all the younger kid groups arrived then held the sw im meet for them. Then we let them have free time untill the older kids arrived then the younger ones had to leave. The older ones had their swim meet then free time. It was a lot of fun. And like last friday I demonstrated the different swims so they would know what to do. After the kids left and Sharon and I were tydiing up the pool, she told me that she really appriciated all the help I had been to her these past few weeks. And that If I need some work to do next summer like if I quit my job or get fired and I need something to do untill I get a new job. That I would be very welcome there.
