Eight Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter

There used to be an internet meme that later became a hit TV sitcom.  You may remember it, it was called "Eight Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" When you’re a teenager, you might perceive such a contract to be written on paper, flimsy but easy to mend.  To a father, it’s written on a thin plate of glass.  If you break one, you break them all, and face the swift justice of a father.  The #1 selling book of all time presents the same idea.  It has only Ten Simple Rules to Get into Heaven, also known as the Ten Commandments.  Though it was written on stone blocks, it may as well have also been written on plate glass.  It doesn’t matter who you are or what your worldview/religion is, if you break one, you break them all, and God offers you only two options.  He offers you either a fair trial (using only the intactness of that piece of glass as evidence) or he offers you complete forgiveness.  Fairness or forgiveness?  Which would you want?  Repent now and put your trust in Jesus.
