The Blog of Daniel

Just my place to write without any delusions of self-importance.

What else?

Today I meant to go for a hike but didn't quite make it.  I got up very early, ate a light breakfast, sat down for a minute and then fell sound asleep until noon.  I guess I was more tired than I thought.

I've been doing a few other things besides the hikes.  Last week I met up with friends Anna and Rhonda at Harkins and saw "Slum Dog Millionaire" which I have to admit was a really good movie.  I initially had no plans on ever seeing it because I assumed it was some stupid Disney movie about a dog winning the lottery or perhaps a man who owns a slum turning into a dog.  After seeing "The Shaggy D.A.", I swore I would never subject myself to such crap again.

Yesterday I met up with Steve (old co-worker) at Mu Shu Asian Grill, which is basically cheap Asian food.  It was nice to see Steve but the food was nothing to write about and it wasn't as inexpensive as it should have been.  I prefer Yoshi's, which gives you a large bowl of sticky white rice, quality flame grilled chicken breast and a choice of thick sauces for about 1/2 the price.  It also tastes incredible.  Patrick and I had lunch there several times a week for many years and never got tired of it.

This week I plan to do a few desert treks to get more photos of desert wildlife.  I may do the Pass Mountain trail again but I'm not quite sure yet.  I plan on checking out the Vista Trail too.  Finally, on Saturday a bunch of us are getting together at Chaparral Park.

That's about it!  Now, I'm gonna call my mom to say "Hi!"
