I've been having the worst headaches for the last few months. Even though I have had them for as long as I can remember, they are worse than ever now. A lot of it is stress, but after seeing a neurologist last week, there are now other concerns. I'm now scheduled for all sorts of interesting tests, including a cat scan, skull ultrasound, blood tests, neurological tests, etc. The doctor also gave me 3 different medications for severe pain.
Interesting things to note: I got one of those nifty little strap on electronic heart rate monitors from work. It picks up a heartbeat on others, but not on me. My doctor took my pulse on my left side and it was 84. That can't be right because it has never gone below 90 in years. He took it again on my right size and it was 118 at calm relaxed rest. 60-70 is normal. Mine is working overtime. I read years ago that some geneticists believe that each person has some specific number of allotted heart beats (an expiration date) embedded into their DNA.
Phrase of the day: Left Ventricular Hypertrophy.
