Life's a Dance?

"Life's a dance, you learn as you go, sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow.  Don't worry 'bout what you don't know.  Life's a dance you learn as you go."

Oh yeah?  I guess this is true.  I've learned from about everything that has happened in my life good or bad, one is that things will not necessarily go my way, the way I see it in my minds eye.  That stinks, how selfish of me.  Sometimes I am screaming inside, "NOOOOOOOO!" other times I realize that the situation is beyond my control, especially when it's happening to those that I love and care about.

I have a friend at the Ranch I am very concerned about, the cancer has spread and when I looked in her eyes last weekend, I saw death.  She is extreemely scared and told me over and over that she does not want to die, all I can do is hug her and encourage her to keep her eyes on the Lord.  I lost my most favorite Uncle Roger to a ravaging cancer August '05, I saw him 3 weeks before he died, he had the same look in his eye as my friend.  My dear friend Mary is going to lose her husband to cancer soon as well, Mary is too young to be a widow, her husband Rick is my age and I mourn for both of them.  Another friend at the Ranch lost her lover of many years to cancer 3 years ago, she is just now learning to live without him, it's been hard to watch her go through this transition....nothing in my life had prepared me for this type of ending.  Yes, I know it's out there and rampant, but it's never affected me in this magnatude before.

So what am I suppose to do with this?  I will take what I have learned by their example, apply, and continue to pray for and support my friends/family who are struggling with teenage issues, suffering in anyway, and facing death.  I wish I could do more, I hope I will do more, I want to do more...my intentions are good.  Undecided

What's that old saying?  Live each day to the fullest as if it were your last?  So, I think I'll dance.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give fate a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking
Loving might be a mistake but it's worth making
Don't let some hellbent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion)
I hope you dance
(Always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder
Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small when you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give fate a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

(Time is a real and constant motion)
I hope you dance
(Always rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder
Where those years have gone)
