Amber's Abode

All out and all in

Well, this is the first document I have typed using my new microphone.  So the accuracy seems to be okay so far, but the microphone is one of those really small desktop microphones from Office Depot.  I had a regular like singer's microphone before, but it accidentally fell hard and cracked one of its wires.  I didn't do it, but nobody here is admitting to it, so I don't know who did.  I have a feeling I will have to keep changing positions for a while to find out where on the desk will be more accurate.

On the frustrating side, my mysterious illness, which is probably catheter related but I'm not sure, continues.  The main symptoms are just a complete and total lack of energy.  Falling asleep anytime anywhere.  I know this will change after my surgery, which I still don't know the date for.  Someone is supposed to call and tell me today.  I was supposed to go to physical therapy today, but I just couldn't do it.  This is scary, because it is so not me.  But my counselor is proud of me because I seem to be taking it in stride.  I am, but mostly because I lack the energy to fight it or be angry at it.

In the good news column, something happened which hasn't happened for two years.  I won my poker tournament on Monday!  I don't even know how it happened because like a half an hour before, I had to put all my chips into the pot because it was my turn to make a forced bet, known as a blind or sometimes called an ante.  We call them blinds, and the situation I was in is called being all in blind.  But I won that particular hand, and every hand I played thereafter.  It was weird, but a really fun thing to happen.  I won a $20 gift certificate good at the bar.

Jess and Marc, thank you for your birthday inspired donation.  I had no idea that Amazon is selling dogfighting tools and memorabilia.  Unfortunately, you are correct in saying that most of the books for the kindle are acquired through Amazon, at least the ones that are new and directly formatted for the device.  There are other places you can get books, but Amazon is the only one which includes wireless delivery, which makes things easier for me.  However, I want to honor your chosen boycott.  So instead of using your money for books, I will use it for something else, likely the Sims newest game or something.  Which I will buy somewhere other than Amazon.

Oh, I forgot to mention I think that I cut my hair on my birthday.  It's still a little past my shoulders, but much shorter and more stylish than it used to be.  I was scared at first, but have been getting complemented regularly, so I think I did the right thing.

I hope everyone has a good day.
